When the Law of Attraction isn’t working …
In the universe there is an immeasurable, indescribable force [called] intent, and absolutely everything that exists in the entire cosmos is attached to intent by a connecting link.” ~ Carlos Castaneda
Early on in my coaching journey, I will admit, I was a frustrated student of The Law of Attraction. Year after year, I’d set intentions (make declarations through word) and feel the feelings to call forth what I wanted in my life. I often found myself at my year’s-end review empty-handed and re-purposing the same pictures on my vision board. I was ready to throw the towel in; it just wasn’t’ working for me. Then I realized that maybe I was doing it wrong. I looked a little closer at who I was being, what I was doing and how I was trying to “manifest.” You see, I wanted certain things really bad … I mean really bad. But year after year they never materialized. I realized that my white-knuckled grip on the wanting was actually creating resistance and my natural inclined way to will things to happen was actually having the reverse effect, blocking the flow.
That began whole exploration of flow – what is it and how to tap into it (or stay in it) whenever you desire. When it comes to creating miracles in your life, there is a very fine distinction between willing something to happen and having unbending intent.
The force of will
When you will something to happen – or grit and gristle through it – you are on “push.” There is no use being on push. Any need to push something goes against the flow of abundance. In other words: when you will something, you step in and act like the writer of the script. (Hint, that’s God’s job). Push is when you want YOUR stuff to happen, and you want it YOUR way. And remember: when man plans, God laughs. Yes, you need to use a type of force, but it’s more subtle than willing or grit & gristling. It’s the power of unbending intent.
The power of intent
Unbending intent is your force in the flow of your higher good. It’s zeroing your focus on the object or experience of your desire and believing and feeling that the outcome is on its way, or something even better. If an obstacle pops up, you go over it or under it or around it or get help to move it out of the way.
The secret to unbending intent is it’s generated from the heart and becomes a magical dance between the left and right hemispheres of your brain. Where will is all left brain; intent is created from the flow, back and forth. When you manifest with force from the mind there is a potential backlash, an opposite reaction. When you manifest from the heart, the universe conspires to ensure everyone is taken care of and receives exactly what they desire. With unbending intent, you put it out there and know that this or something better that is in your best interest will arrive. And you drop the reasoning and the rationalizing, giving infinite intelligence a chance to work.
Here’s are 3 C’s for how to use unbending intent to get into the flow and attract the relationships, abundance, success, experience, love and/or joy you want in your life:
- Clarity: be clear on what you want to create, experience, be, do or have. Get crystal clear. Sink into your heart (get out of your head), what does it look like, how do you feel? Allow the images and the feelings to arise within. Do not force the mental pictures, allow the space for flashes of inspiration. Hold those images without wavering.
- Clearing: What you want needs space to arrive. Create the “clearing in the forest” so what you want or its equivalent shows up. Clear yourself of the blocks, limiting beliefs, grasping, struggling, fear or manipulation. What needs to go? Declare your intent and then take consistent action. Be open to receiving in whatever form or time-frame it arrives.
- Certainty: Stand with your arms, ears and eyes wide open and trust that what you want or something better is on its way in perfect timing. Know that it’s your divine right to thrive and have abundance. “Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait, and wait without anxiety.” ~ A Course in Miracles
